Red Wolf

In her intricate watercolor paintings, Laura Ball portrays a colorful tangle of creatures that weave their way into our consciousness. In “Red Wolf,” we see a critically endangered species, endemic to the southeastern United States. Red wolves were nearly driven to extinction by aggressive predator-eradication measures. Ongoing efforts to reintroduce captive-bred populations into the wild have faced numerous challenges.
