Opis umetničkog dela

Stories of abuse and harassment are shared daily on the internet and social media, redefining our processes of sedimentation and internalization of information whilstoffering a space to discuss and question our social and mental structures.Following Silvia Federici in the construction of capitalism in her book ‘Caliban and theWitch’ (2004) we discover how we have ended up confronting a system whoselinguistics, spatiality, bureaucracy and politics, undermine the condition of the other. The social body, bureaucratic organisms and our ways of behavior follow closely frombehind the frictions evidenced in the online space, demonstrating our lack of means toface and rebel against the violent foundations of our society.Contact emerges as an analysis of the influence that the internet and social networkshave over the configuration of our means of empathy and assimilation of violence.Using Matlab programming language, different testimonies of abuses shared online, images and texts, have been translated to obtain three RGB matrices adaptable to theaudible sound spectrum. The audios are disseminated in the gallery’s space through 3synchronized speakers, recreating a conversation of digital noises and questioning ourcommunicational in/ability and emotional literacy.
