Following his graduation, Reddy served as the head of the art section at Kalakshetra Foundation from 1947 to 1949 and also taught art at the Montessori Teachers' Training Centre in Madras. A pivotal moment came in 1949 when he moved to London to study with Henry Moore at the Slade School of Fine Arts, University of London. This exposure broadened his artistic horizons and introduced him to modern sculptural practices.

His journey continued to Paris, where he encountered the influential sculptor Constantin Brâncuși.
